Student success statement
“Disciplining yourself to do what you know is right and important, although difficult, is the highroad to pride, self- esteem, and personal satisfaction.”
-         Margaret Thatcher
Reflection
Margaret is listing some of the rewards there are to doing what is right. I say rewards because nothing bad can come from doing what is right. They may not be immediate but after constantly choosing to do what is right they will become more apparent. Remember that the key is perseverance, even states that it will not be easy.

Balancing High School and part time work
Part 3
Brad Macgowan of the career Center at Newton North High School in Massachusetts thinks that working can be a valuable part of a student’s life, if taken on responsibility. “You can derive a great deal from working, considerable more than just money,” he says. “In most cases you can acquire a nice dose of discipline and a whole new set of skills and experiences.” In addition, your supervisor may be willing to write a strong college recommendation for you.
School comes first.
Schoolwork, including homework and studying for tests, should always be your top priority. MacGowan cautions students who do decide to work, “IF you are rushing through your assignments … or not studying enough for tests because of work, it’s time to cut back or quit and find a less time consuming job.

Grandparents Locked Girl In The Bathroom For Six Years

Summary:

These two grandparents from Dyton Ohio lock their granddaughter in the Bathroom for six years. They allowed her outside only when time to go to school came. They fed her consistent meals. They gave her only a Blanket to use for her to sleep. The door leading outside the bathroom was reinforced by drawers. The only exception for which they let the little girl out was when relatives visited. They have been charged with a first degree kidnapping felony punishable for up to ten years in prison and third degree child felony punishable for up to five years.
Reflection
What these grandparents did was completely and utterly wrong. They claim that the granddaughter was unruly even though psychologists have said she was normal. The punishment was far too extreme. They chose to do wrong and now they are paying the consequences rightfully so.

Balancing high school and Part time work
Part 1

Like many high school students, you may want – or need – to work part time. Working takes a lot of time and energy, though, so before getting a job, make sure that you think of your ability to handle both work and your education.
Important considerations
You have to weigh a number of factors when deciding whether to take on a part time job. It is important to get as much information as possible, so you can figure out what choice makes the most sense for you.
Schedule a meeting with your school counselor to discuss you working. Talk to your counselor about why you want to work and what type of position you are seeking.

Student Success Statement

“If it is not right, do not do it; if you is not true, do not say it.”
Marcus Aurelius

This quote means that if you do something that you know that is wrong then you should not being doing. If you do something wrong and they ask you if you did it you should tell the truth.
